The land of the red Maple Leaf reaching from sea to sea is Canada. It touches the Atlantic, graces the Pacific and celebrates with the Artic---the big waters of the world. It is home to elks and caribous, and it borders the frosty polar axis, tundra sitting Alaska and the temperate mainland called the United States. Just like its neighbor Alaska, its caravan of dogs called sledgedog is powerful world heritage and cultural expression.
Canada is the traveller's destination, because it is welcoming to people all over the world. And at the mention of the name, joy and love fill people's heart. It is one of the few countries that have managed its diversity with near perfection, such that at a point it was voted the best country to live on earth.
Therefore, Canada is a country never hidden. It is as popular as the ages, having good people and good seasons. And depending on where you are in Canada, you could be speaking French or English. This means that you could be a French Canadian or English Canadian, from the two dominant nations of France and England that colonized the country.
But whether you are French or English Canadian, rejoice because, Canada is the best place to be. Canada has had wonderful and great people, and it will continue to have them. And among them is JOSH JACQUOT.
Josh Jacquot was born some 28 years ago in Windsor, Ontario Canada. someone might be asking Windsor in Canada! What happens to the Uk. Yes the House that produced Queen Elizabeth II is called the House of Windsor, and it is located in the town of Windsor in the UK. There is historical relation here. Canada at the later part of its life was under Britain, so Britain named it after their own.
Windsor in Canada is called " City of Roses," and "Automotive Capital of Canada." And when it is considered that Windsor is the southernmost city of Canada, bordering the Detroit River, along Detroit-Michigan axis, it would be understood how important Windsor is to Canada.
Stung early by the desire to explore and touch lives, Josh Jacquot had contributed handsomely to human development. He had dealt so much with people and this he did and continues to do on many fronts. In fact, he is people's consultant. He knows where the heart of people are when it comes to business and management.
He knows that managing human beings, as well as markets is never business as usual. He understands that it is a special terrain requiring special disposition and presentation. The quest to improve always and contribute to the lot of the people has been a hugely motivating factor for him.
This explains why he has been many things at many times. His drive and energy have given him ample opportunities to live in so many cosmopolitan cities in Canada. Josh was not just an innovative entrepreneur and Management/Marketing Consultant, he equally embodies political administration, and a tactful planner, but he is also a religious leader. He had on many occasions raised his voice towards effecting change and bringing about development.
When Josh was born very close to the dawn of the 21st century in the wintery and frosty city of Windsor in Ontario, Southwestern Canada, he carried hope like every other child born anew in the world. He lived and played while nursing his ambitions at that very period of infancy. He went through the stages of childhood, learning from firsthand experience and that of others around him.
Those early formative years exposed him to the very importance of being determined and pursuing life diligently. Those long lasting snowy winters, when temperature got to subzero, would equally impact on him. Those periods, difficult as they were had to be faced. The period spent more inside the home, afforded him more times to draw close to the home. It was never disputed, Canada has so many cultural and interesting places, but wintery, frosty times could limit the visitations to these places.
While maneuvering the neighborhood, learning and forging friendships, he equally followed the beat of his heart. Anyway, at the very early stages in life, just like in every other person, Josh was under the influence and direction of his parents, although not his biological parents. He was raised in an adoptive home. Josh was adopted along with other children. This meant that Josh would have many siblings from different parents. Josh had seven adoptive siblings, so it would at that early stage be a hugely learning curve.
Therefore, coming from such diversified background of brothers that cut across backgrounds would make it easy for Josh to relate with many people at an even level. That early exposure would have a long lasting impression on him. It made him to be winning and cheerful, courageous and enduring---qualities that had contributed very handsomely to his political development and approach to issues affecting people.
Again, a busy and bustling city like Windsor would have its own central role to play. Ontario is a beehive of activities, and Windsor, is the melting pot. Windsor, the city with blue flag with median white strip, flowers and emblem, is a very busy city. Manufacturing, especially at the industrial scale gave life to the city.
Automobiles have been the industrial strength of Windsor, so commercial and financial activities were high. This would make Josh to nurse and pursue his interest in the business environment, as well as further his interest in the automotive sector. He is very conversant with the way those business executives, ruled the financial world around Windsor, while equally celebrating the finesse those automotive engineers and technicians put into their daily activities.
Anyone that knows Josh would point to the fact that he had his hands in many piles. He dreamed day and night to succeed and achieve lasting progress. Josh continued to address the reality before him, while planning against the hurdles of the period to think out ways of achieving his dream and making life more meaningful for so many others to come after him.
Like it has been said, Josh lived so many years in Windsor, from childhood to his first six years of adulthood. His childhood memories still vivid, was defined by Windsor. He could remember those very happy moments around celebrations like Christmas. His attachment to Windsor till this moment is strong. For some 24 years out of his total life of 28 years, he lived in Windsor.
Soon, he carried his dream a bit ahead by enrolling at school. He went to school, and started at the grade school. The school was within the neighborhood, but it had created one small step in leaving the home. Since it was elementary, others like his teachers determined what Josh did. He would follow instructions from his teachers to the letter, just like it was at home.
But, every stage in life is important. The school though was for children of his age and a little above, but that helped in no small way both consciously and unconsciously in making him to accept the world as it is, mingling with friends and working hard. By this time, Josh's views about life had gone some way higher than when he was at home doing nothing. This meant that Josh had two social institutions forming his world view. He had the home and the school to form and shape him.As time went Josh had made great progress. He had climb from one level at school to another and his number of friends too increased.
Let it be mentioned here, Josh had long cultural exposure and root. His descendants had deep European origin. The rich immigration to Canada from the first spark by Leif Erikson, the Norse explorer, in early 1000 AD, followed by John Cabot in 1497, opened the way for other Europeans. His ancestors were Portuguese-British Canadians, and Italian-French Canadians. Mind you, immigrants still flock to Canada till this day, due to the good political and economic atmosphere.
Did Josh participate in school extracurricular activities? Before this answer would be answered, a little more internalized aspect of Josh need clarified. Josh has been easy going, accommodating. He can associate for long, because he values friendship, but he loves a useful one. His leadership expression started early in life, so leading and defending others for good have been a long trademark of his.
So at that very early level in the grade school, no very serious sports were ongoing, but he played like small children are wont to do. But that never removed the fact that Josh was on gradual path to independence. But it cannot be at once. Rome actually was not built in a day. It was planning and millennial of labour and sweat that had made it the capital of the world during its height in the years that have gone by. So Josh did whatever the school presented. Josh actually engaged in the few shouting and singing sessions that roused their spirits. He equally engaged in those minimal sports like running and cheering their mates.
Biscuits and candies have always been a big part of early school experience, so Josh enjoyed them, and would wish they never ceased in their supply. Children are lovers of color and attractive toys, and Josh was not different. He enjoyed the overwhelming atmosphere of toys and colors. Every teacher at the beginner schools knows that color and pictures are the best things to catch the attention of kids.
Josh played around colors and enjoyed the world of pictures that hung on walls and present in books. Those Montessori school system actually played a good role in his upbringing. On the other side of the coin, childhood association when not strictly guarded could raise problems, like children fighting and carrying their play too far. But, it should be understood that children would always be children, so Josh still had some brush with this not too palatable phase.
Josh went through the ladder of junior/grade school and proceeded to the high school. Unlike the elementary school, he was expected to behave and be organized. Majority of the decisions he made were by himself, and his education had advanced beyond pictures, and colors. He had to reason, and apply his ideas. It meant, he would seat at night alone and try to make meaning of what he was being thought.
But like his elementary school, he still depended more on directives and guidance from his teachers and foster parents. But he was never deterred. Josh, still driven by his quest to be known within Windsor, and larger Ontario, pushed ahead with his education. He equally made friends as it improved him. Some of his greatest friends were made at this level. Moreso, the stress of assignments and other academic demands, would lend him to friends. They shared ideas together.
This middle stage of education still had a gradual progression. It was here Josh incubated, honed, and defined his political and leadership orientation. Did Josh nurse any religious interest? That would not be said to have started in his high school, but it increased it.
Life in a foster home had exposed him to some serious religious activity. Again, religion, especially Christianity, has had its foundation on brotherly love, so this went deep into him. And till this day, this spirit of seeking the good of others remains. Relatively, coming from adoptive home would still impress it upon him. He had seven siblings at the adoptive home, and all of them were guys. So they were eight guys who must have had enough moments thinking about their real parents and enduring some psychological impact from such experience.
At high school Josh scaled the academic levels. He had engaged in other things outside his academics. Remember, he had become a teenager, so his need for fantasy and exploration was in top gear. His youthful energy and exuberance took greater part of him. No doubt, teachers and parents at this period, most times would want to check their wards, but they equally know that little could be done, since it is puberty at work.
Josh had friends which cut across the sexes. He had his very interesting and challenging moments having such friends in their diversity. Of course boyhood and teenage expectation among teenagers of the same sex is not such thing to worry about. But what about the opposite sex? It was here the pressure was being felt.
It was either Josh got it right, or wrong. But these expectations too would still come to pass. Except for anything, ladies and guys would confabulate, and flirt. The best dressed or the neatest or coordinated guy would attract attention from the ladies. Being a leader, as well as intelligent would equally attract attention. The same thing went for the guys. Any lady with good attributes was still a nightmare to guys, so Josh having shown some of this characteristics soon found some ladies to love.
Josh attended both Catholic grade school and high school. But he had left his parents around grade 11. He felt like staying on his own. Josh had been given freehand to pick his Christian faith. He had grown up in interfaith home. His legal guardian father was a Catholic, while his legal guardian mother was a Muslim. Peacefully they lived practising their different faiths. Josh belongs to the Universal Life Church.
Later Josh lost his biological mother. This was around grade 10 in high school. He called his biological parents aunt and uncle. The death of his biological mother brought him in contact with his biological siblings. Josh called them cousins. He equally had an uncle his legal guardian mother side. He was very nice to Josh.
Around grade 9 or 10, Josh had clearly understood his calling in the business environment. He excelled in business Administration at high school than he did in any other subject. Josh inherited his business ideas from his godfather. He had been a very successful and enterprising entrepreneur. So from high school Josh ventured into business.
Later Josh left Windsor for Hamilton. Anyway, in the course of Josh's business life he had been to many cities in Canada. He has always been driven to solve problems, thus making him to live in many places around Canada. Josh left high school thinking much about business. And to satisfy this, he engaged in business activities. It was in the course of this that he met a young lady and they have a son.
While life in Hamilton went on, Josh and his girl had failed to agree. He was separated from his girl friend soon afterwards, although some legal issues are now being handled to allow him the custody of his nine-year old son. After the separation, Josh returned to Windsor. He continued doing his very best until he got some serious accident.
The accident affected his ability to go about things as he used to. It affected his health. The accident would leave him with mental health issues. Perhaps, that explained more, why he fought for such rights as the use of medical cannabis. The accident did not only reduce his physical activity, it equally affected his memory. He could only remember things in short term---he had developed short term memory. So he always needed to write things down.
Although the result of the health crisis led to lower productivity from Josh, but he still found time to work in the factory. He took factory job, and participated in Union activities.
Josh had always wished to change people for good. He wanted people around him and those coming after to have a better world. So his joining the Union was never a thing of surprise. He participated in the politics of the Union. He contested for the post of president of the United Automotive Workers Union.
He contested in UAW 251 while at the same time nursing the ambition to participate in the larger provincial politics. Issues of human rights, and activism are not new to Josh, rather they have long been part of him. He still campaigns till date for the use of medical cannabis and other fundamental human rights. Still on politics: Josh in 2018 contested at the municipal elections to represent Windsor. And he hopes to continue in the next elections.
Josh equally knows the place of serious education in achieving his aim. He hopes to continue schooling so as to be a certified business/marketing consultant. He equally wishes to have his legal education, which has the advantage of keeping him aware of the legal demands of his business. Being an auto guy from the origin, he would not stop short of having his certificate. So he has planned big in going back to school next year.
Josh is currently working from home in Northern British Columbia by the beautiful Northern Rockies Mountains, though not fully at the position he would have wanted, especially based on many things he plans to do, but he would continue to strive for fairness, justice and equity. On the religious side, Josh was recently ordained a pastor in Universal Life Church.
Does Josh still play hockey again? Anyway, he did it while he was in high School.
The story of Josh cannot be concluded without mentioning his loyal and dependable pet. Josh has a very nice looking dog---Boxer Dakota “Kody”.
